About This Job
Office work:
You will assist project managers in a fast-paced environment with utility mapping and SUE projects. Candidates will be required to analyze multiple data sources such as utility records provided by utility owners, survey data field notes, and field sketches in order to prepare existing and proposed utility plans. The position requires drafting capabilities necessary to create finished existing utility plans in support of utility mapping and SUE projects and includes CAD work in AutoCAD Civil3D to generate plan sets. Candidates will need strong technical skills with the proven ability to work efficiently and effectively in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Field work:
You will also perform field survey activities related to the location/marking of designated underground utilities, uploading and downloading data, and maintaining related records in the office. If not already able to proficiently use survey instruments, you will be trained on their correct application and use.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Under general supervision, develop existing/proposed utility plans from survey data, field notes, field sketches, and office review according to project manager and client specifications
- Produce existing/proposed utility plans according to company or client CAD/drafting standards using AutoCAD Civil3D
- Quality check all work and compare to maps provided by utility companies to ensure complete and accurate plans are provided
- Perform survey activities to map the location of designated utilities
Requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or proficiency in GIS mapping software with a willingness to learn AutoCAD Civil3D environment
- A minimum of 1-3 years of experience with utility mapping, civil drafting, or GIS mapping
- Ability to follow and apply CAD/drafting standards
- Entry level to intermediate knowledge of GPS and data collection a plus
- Must be hard working, dependable, and possess a valid Colorado Driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Some travel within the state of Colorado may be required

Salary
$50,000 – $65,000
Your actual wage will be based on experience.
