About This Job
As a Potholer, you will drive and operate a truck with a pothole trailer performing water release and vacuum operations. You will interact with customers on site, perform potholing services and ensure customer satisfaction. Approximately 80% of your time will be spent working with the truck on site and the remaining 20% is spent driving.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Responsible for operation and maintenance of pothole truck and trailer and its hoses, holding vacuum and water lines during operation
- Perform various vacuum excavation activities near utilities, including core drilling, shoveling, back filling and construction labor
- Perform basic mathematical calculations, take field measurements, and document daily activities
- Responsible for general cleanup of job sites
Requirements
- Experience operating a pothole truck and equipment
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds periodically in order to remove and replace manhole lids to properly locate buried lines
- Must be hard working, dependable, and possess a valid Colorado Driver’s license
- Class A CDL preferred but not required
- Clean driving record
- Work hours can fluctuate, employees must be willing to be on-call, both during normal business hours and after normal business hours when necessary for safety reasons or work restrictions.
- Some travel outside the Denver Metro area may be required
- Able to pass pre-employment drug and criminal background screen
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Able to read sketches
- Able to meet deadlines
- Self-starter and prioritizes safety
- Good communication skills
- Have a basic knowledge of various underground utilities, ability to identify surface features associated with various utilities, a plus
- Knowledge of OSHA Safety policies, preferred
Salary
$20 to $30 per hour
